I AM YOU (“we”) runs iamyou.fm. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site and stay in touch with people who ask us to. This page explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
What we collect
- Newsletter & demo submissions. If you enter your email or send a demo, we store what you submit (via Netlify Forms) so we can reply and send the updates you asked for.
- Basic technical data. Our host (Netlify) processes standard server logs — IP, browser, pages — to serve and secure the site.
- Analytics. If we enable analytics, it runs with privacy-friendly settings and, where required, your consent. We never sell your data.
Embedded players
Release players use Spotify when you press play. SoundCloud waveform players load as they approach the visible part of the page, without starting audio. Other SoundCloud players load when you press play or hover over a mix after enabling “Sound on hover”. Once loaded, those services may set their own cookies and receive your IP address under their own privacy policies.
Artist pages can play YouTube videos, and event pages can show Instagram posts. These embeds load only when you press their play or watch button. YouTube previews use a local I AM YOU image; playing opens YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed. The providers receive your IP address when their embeds load.
Some records also have short audio previews hosted on this site. The optional “Sound on hover” setting is stored in your browser’s local storage so your choice is remembered.
Cookies
The site itself sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The third-party embeds above — and any analytics we enable — may set cookies; where consent is required, we ask first.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data, or to stop emailing you, at any time — every newsletter also carries an unsubscribe link. Get in touch and we’ll act on it.
