Women’s Day on the Roof

Six artists. One Sunday in Brooklyn.

On 8 March 2026, I AM YOU joined Gray Area at The Roof at Superior Ingredients for International Women’s Day. Deer Jade brought together a bill of six artists: different sounds and approaches, with a shared place behind the decks.

The photographs tell the story at two different speeds. In daylight, everyone squeezes into the frame: arms in the air, headphones still on, a booth dressed in pink, the city beyond the glass. Later, the room fills the picture. There’s a mirror ball overhead, the skyline at sunset, and I AM YOU glowing above the dance floor.

That is the full announced lineup, as listed in Gray Area’s event programme. DJ sets, live performance and vocals shared the bill. The invitation also included guided breathwork and curated vendors, making room to arrive and connect around the music.

A sign of our own

Look behind the booth. The coloured I AM YOU lettering hangs above the decks. In the group photograph, it shares the daylight with the people below it. In the evening photograph, it becomes the brightest colour in the room: blue, pink and yellow against the last light over New York.

The lettering has its own place in the family’s visual history. Here it is doing something simple: giving the gathering a name you can see from the back of the dance floor. The music, the people, the pink around the booth and the light above it all meet in one frame.
