About

BROLORIZO brings two distinct musical lives into the same room. The Mexico City duo pairs Guatemalan producer and vocalist Estefani Brolo with Mexican guitarist, singer and producer Ana Rizo. Voices and guitars meet electronic rhythms across nu-disco, techno, Afro-Latin house and funk. Both artists arrive with experience of bands, songwriting and collaboration, giving the project a foundation that reaches beyond the DJ booth.

Two musical beginnings

Brolo is the lead singer of the Costa Rican tropical disco band Patterns. Their debut album, Dangerous Intentions, included Sunny Days, later remixed by Fred Falke. Rizo studied music production and engineering, received a Berklee scholarship and has been invited to tour with artists including Lykke Li and Patterns. Her own solo work explores funk and pop alongside the collaborative projects.

For Rizo, songwriting began privately. In a 2020 interview with Bizarro FM, she described writing songs to express what was happening in her life, before she expected anyone else to hear them. Making an EP became the step that encouraged her to sing and share that material. It is a personal history within the duo: a musician learning to bring an intimate practice into public.

Making music together

Together, Brolo and Rizo also co-founded I.M YONI, a women’s dance-music collective whose Premier EP appeared on Toucan Sounds in 2020. BROLORIZO returned to that label with JUNO in 2025, a three-track release including Te Esperare and Music Saved Me. On I AM YOU’s ALL OF US 001, they join Alma Linda for Strip Away From Your Body, continuing a musical life built around shared work.
