Cristina Tosio’s connection to music began long before the DJ booth. Born in Madrid, the daughter of a drummer, she grew up with rhythm close at hand. One of her earliest musical memories is rewinding a Michael Jackson cassette a few phrases at a time, writing down the lyrics so she could learn the song. Today, her own music works with house, funk and groove from a base in Ibiza.

Music and image

A love of artistic photography drew her into fashion, and her work now also includes interior design. In a 2025 Marie Claire interview, she described the three practices as connected. Music gives her a direct way to create something that people can experience together.

Leaving room to improvise

Preparation and improvisation both have a place in her DJing. Before a show, she gathers music with the setting in mind: the difference between a beach and a club, the time of day and the character of the venue. She plans the opening two or three tracks, then follows what she feels from the audience. That leaves a clear starting point and space for the set to develop in the room.

Her performances include Pacha and Cova Santa in Ibiza, Mondo in Madrid and D-Edge in Brazil. As a producer, she has released on Sincopat and Atlant Records; as a selector, she recorded Balance Croatia 006 for the Balance series. Cosmic Butterfly arrived in May 2026, carrying that meeting of rhythm, image and shared experience into two new tracks.
